All electric trucks made in the next 5-10 years are made for people who don't actually need a truck.

Let's see a capable electric truck with a price tag under 50k and I'm in.

Until they can either reduce battery charge times to that equivalent to filling up a fuel tank, or extend the range to allow for a full day's driving (>1000 miles), I don't see any electric vehicle as practical except as a commuter/local delivery vehicle. Of all the people I know with fully electric vehicles, exactly NONE of them have a fully electric vehicle as their only vehicle.

I know 3 people that have them as their only vehicle.

And everyone who buys a mid size 4door truck with a 5 foot bed doesn't actually need a truck.

The CyberCuck is still in the design phase according to Elon's tweet this week. Apparently they dedicate Friday to this vehicle.

I read that link and all I could hear in my head were Charlie Brown trombone noises. Toyota - we have no clue, but here's something to distract you while we continue to have no clue.

So what you are saying is the vast majority of truck owners. There was a guy here on TW arguing that a Subaru was as good as a truck for hauling things. And I think thousands of contractors would say they need a truck, even it they only drive locally.

And burning oceans are some how better? All the reputable research I've been able to find shows the EV are better for the environment. Nobody says EV are without impact, just that the impact is less.

Well they are still making changes but it's designed and prototypes are built.

Electric off roading has a lot of potential but you have to sell me on range and reliability.

I know 2 people, and one lives in an apartment without the ability to charge at home. Both rave about how much they like their cars.

It goes against the grain, but IMO the vast majority of Americans don't need a truck. We're the only country on the planet where everything is larger than life, houses, vehicles, bodies and hamburgers.

I see plenty of Karens and Kevins driving half tons to the office with out a scratch in the bed nor the witness marks of ever having a hitch in the receiver.

These are the first people to start grumbling when fuel prices go up

And then they blame the President at the time for the fuel prices.

Sorry, but Elon's a heck of a conman, what other company would extract a billion dollars out of consumers for FSD only to deliver a half ass product that's incomplete.

Like the semi, the CyberCuck isn't going to be released any time soon

The plant for the truck is being built now. FSD is still a Beta testing feature which needs help.
