So I spotted this Tacoma sitting out in a parking lot and was hoping to catch the owner but I waited around for a bit before I had to head off.

I can tell you that it’s a newer Tacoma and a TRD pro. He is running and 33’s.

I’m still new to all this but it looks like he just did a straight body left versus suspension lift.

That is what they call a “spacer lift”. There is a spacer above the front struts, and a block under the back leafs. It is not a “body lift”. A body lift places spacers in the body mounts.

Yeah. The lift you see has some drawbacks you can research here. A spacer lift that is that high, is mainly for looks, as it limits the travel of the suspension. If you can imagine, the front wheels cannot move fully up into the wheel well, as they would with a true lift. A true lift typically involves longer springs in the front, and leaf springs with more arch in the back. It doesn’t limit your overall travel.

Looks like a regular TRD offroad, with a block lift.Nothing special or good about the truck and setup.

That’s what I was thinking. I don’t think the stock TRD pro suspension can even do this

    That's a 6" Rough Country drop-bracket lift: https://www.roughcountry.com/toyota...5820c.html?find=2018-toyota-tacoma-4wd-739789

Involves cutting a frame crossmember and bolting in new crossmembers to drop the front diff and lower control arms.

What ^^^ said. This isnt your basic 2-3” spacer. A spacer that big can only be used with a drop bracket lift. Theres options to remove that spacer with an extended length coilover also.
