I'm looking at the Midland MXT275 and the ghost antenna. I have ditch light brackets but cant find what size hole is needed to mount the antenna.
I ordered a set of ditch light extension brackets but they are too big for what I want.
Then I saw these and it's more of what I'm after: I'm not sure if I can use them as is or if I need to drill.

edit: looks like a 3/8" hole?

You'll want to understand RF and the risks of putting it this close to your head.
I Tx rarely, keep it at 5w and don't rag chew. I'm comfortable with it but others may not be.

When you say "head", do you mean the radio or the ditch light?
I'm looking at mounting the radio unit on the passenger kick panel, and the antenna inboard of the driver side ditch light.

It’s either there or the passenger side but the AM/FM antenna and soon a snorkel are there.

just keep the power down, and transmit/talk out to a minimum.
