I was fine on the drive back from Mississippi. All this stuff was caught up between the diff seal and the bushing area in a little gap. Haven’t used 4wd for a few weeks.

I’m going to drain the diff to see in any other bearing still come out but before I do that I want to try an flush the roller bearing between where the ecgs bushing is and the clamshell there are those little holes that lead from where all the metal was to that bearing so idk if some made its way in there.

Any suggestions to try and get it out of there? I’m thinking pump oil in the fill hole and try and have it spill out the side through that bearing maybe? And spin the front driveshaft to try and get them all I guess

I'd almost say just buy new seals and pop it open and run it through the parts washer. Would be better peace of mind for me.

Only had a little piece come out of the roller bearing area whatever it is and had 3 pieces on the drain plug.

I’ll probably leave the skid off and change the oil once more before moonlight but I’m going to run it

ring gear looks fine. Probably wouldn’t see anything anyways but oh well

Got the leaks fixed. Knuckles rebuilt, wheel bearings, new clutch. This thing is a side shifter (!). 38EA5BC9-A207-4469-A8B2-7752A6A3ACAA.jpgCF1F11DC-D1AA-47C4-BB84-5A73BA9858F9.jpg 9328D3C8-D45F-471D-B1E8-C17DD1906F96.jpgE718953B-8B01-48F5-A9C6-7EAD844C670C.jpg

They took really good care of it. Inside every night, outside next to shop for high visibility. maybe it brought in some biz. Got lots of comments from customers. Got all my stuff from Marlin Crawler. Couldn’t find a boot (pictured) at bottom of stick. Finally found it at MC, they had it labeled wrong, like it wouldn’t work for 1979-1980 side shifter. Otherwise a 2 -3 day job.
