I replaced both of my front hubs several years ago with ones that I purchased from BamaToy1997. I rotated my wheels last week, and one of the front lugs sheared off. I bought an OEM replacement, and the head of the OEM lug is too big to fit through the hole, flush, of the hub from BamaToy1997. The thread is the same.
Since Bama is not a member here anymore, does anybody know what lugs he used?
    Thanks.

I don’t know, but I bought some from him too.
Hopefully mine aren’t like this. I never noticed?
I hope I never have to replace any lug studs.

If you figure it out, let us know.
That way we know what to buy if it happens to us.

BTW, were you using a Torque Wrench?
(And no, I’m not going to criticize you if you didn’t)

I guess I should have also asked.
Are you sure you have the correct stud?

Have you replaced a lug stud before? The shoulder of the stud is slightly larger than the diameter of the hole so when you press it in it won’t spin.

I believe he uses dorman parts where the lugs go

Typically he used Dorman hubs, so they had Dorman studs, but the studs would be the same size as Toyota OEM. As @hoarder23 said, you have to lube up the knurled section with oil and draw it in with a flat-bottomed lugnut (an open-ended acorn nut flipped around works well).

    I appreciate everyone’s responses. I should’ve taken pictures today.
The knurled section of the lug from BamaToy1997 is different than the OEM lug. It is thicker, and the knurling is different too. I tried to force it using an impact and an acorn nut, and it did not seat fully.
I will post pictures as soon as I can. In for the night.

You might have to take measurements and go through the dorman catalog to find the correct fit.

I have had to do this for custom parts that I bought from someone else.

I have replaced a lug stud before. It actually sheared when removing the lug nut. I was using a cordless impact.

Dorman 610266 should be the stud used: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=1060129&jsn=34

I've used this P/N to replace a broken OEM stud and it was the same size. Does your wheel stud look like it?

I got the Dorman lug from O’Reillys, and it is pictured on the left. One of the other lugs that is already on the hub is pictured on the right.

Can you guys help me identify the old lug? I hope you can see, the knurling has a larger diameter on the lug on the left, hence why it won’t seat in the hub.

    Again, I appreciate everybody’s help.

I think you need to take a measurement with a micrometer to verify that one is bigger than the other. The took is about $15 at HF or Amazon.

They’re definitely shaped differently. And I can’t get the replacement to seat, with an impact.

Disregard. I measured them and they are the exact same out to the thousand. So I just breaker bar’d the crap out of it, and it appears to be seated the same depth as the rest. Ruined a couple Lug nuts in the process.
