    Hey guys and gals-

Just getting used to my alpine
Ilx-207 HU and I’m not happy with my sound, so I’m considering adding a subwoofer first. Second would be a tweeter.

Big question is, will I be satisfied with one of the under seat POWERED subwoofers from CerwinVega/Kicker?

I’m not trying to spend another $1500 on the entire soundstage, mostly because I do not want to lose my behind/under back seat storage.

So that leaves me with under the seat subs or the JL one that replaces the bulk of the center console.

Any hands on usage of the under seat type subs is what I’m looking for.
    Looking for your experiences...

Powered subwoofers in general are underwhelming.

Have you looked at an option to fit inside one of the storage bins so you dont lose all of the storage?
Have you replaced anything besides the factory radio such as the front speakers?
Do you feel like you are lacking bass or missing overall sound stage and volume?

Just adding a sub may not give you what you are looking for if you still have the factory speakers.

well I go back a decade or two since I was into car audio, and back then no factory equipment was really sufficient.

Fast forward to today and a lot of factory speakers do the job just fine, I was hoping some small form factor subs had developed enough to fill the void.

soundstage and volume are decent In the mid bass spectrum, so I was hoping to just add a small powered sub and swap tweeters.

    alpine ILX-207 is my HU.

Ok cool. If you are happy with the stocks then maybe a single 10” behind one seat

I use a Sound Ordinance 8” and I’m happy. It’s for listening, not competition. The acoustics in a truck are horrible and noise in the cab of a Taco is considerable.
