Hi guys, I recently bought a '21 4x4 2.7 Access Cab, I went with the 2.7 for a few reasons, (Don't make me regret it :D) I want to do a lift and tires, I am leaning towards 3"-4" lift, with 33s. Does this sound like a bad idea? I do not mind being slow, But cruising at 70-80 is daily driving. I want to have a good looking truck, with function off road, and as a daily. Anyone with experience or knowledge have advice? I am also willing to do minor engine mods, But not at the sacrifice of my reliability, and MPG.
I am just really struggling with what I want to do to this truck, But I know its something:notsure: Thanks in advance:cheers:

33's are going to sacrifice your MPG's considerably.

Even if you regear (which with 33's and wanting MPG you will certainly want to, recommend 4.88 and with your 4cyl possibly 5.29) your MPG's will be negatively impacted noticeably due to rolling resistance, added height from the tires alone and the required lift which also requires a cab mount chop mud flap removal and upper control arms possibly wheels with more back spacing just to fir 33's on your truck.

265 75 16 or 265 70 17 is the largest you can fit before you have to really dump some coin.

Are you sure about this? Ive seen loads of access cabs with 33s and 3 inch lift, even from the dealer,, without any kind of chopping, and with the mud flaps

Do 255/85/16 it’ll be a skinny 33 and you won’t have to lift it.

No, I just like ruining people's days on the internet for fun.

    Yes. Very sure.

Use the search if you don't believe me, literally houndreds of similar threads.

You will rub on the cab mount if you run a tire taller than 32 and rub on the upper control arm if you run wider than a 265 (9.5)

The biggest tire you can fit without chopping something is a 265 70 17 or 265 75 16.

I'm running a 285 75 17 (34x11 r17) and even with one of the most aggressive cab mount chops I've seen and caster shoved as far forward as possible I still rub at full bump and compression.

My fenders flares and cab mounts are cut and my pinch weld and cab are beat.

This is just the nature of the beast.

Put 33's on it and see for yourself if you don't believe me.

    :notsure:

You can run a 255 80 17 which is a 32x9 if you want a 32 on stock suspension, your MPG's will thank you for the decrease in rolling resistance but that's about it, you're limited to a 31 otherwise.

If you're seeing lifted trucks with 33's at the dealer they're probably either a pavement princesses and never cycle the suspension that rub anyway and they just don't care or on a crap 6" drop bracket lift which gets the truck high enough it just barely clears on the street.

But one thing is to be certain, if you start modifying your truck your MPG's will go down quickly, especially when you're adding unsprung weight and resistance and it will be more noticeable with the 4Cyl due to the decreased torque.

Not the best picture but it's what I have on my phone, to the far right you can see my cab mount is chopped with a little rust spot from where the tires took off the paint.

I ran 32's with a small lift and no CMC and it rubbed off road, got upper control arms and 33's and it was practically undriveable until I started hacking and beating everything clears now even with 34's but I have pounded and cut a LOT.
