You guys are too kind, and make me miss having mod days, where we all get to hang out, share drinks, and ideas, and laughs.

@BassAckwards, we need to schedule a weekend or days for you to come down, so that we can put our heads together and figure out this turbo header. Not having any luck with my friend's truck.

For those that haven't been following in the Turbo B.S. thread, this has been the current project that I have been working on. More of the photos will be over there.

I am super busy at work right now (tax season) but i should get friday's off starting June-ish. Maybe sometime after that, i can come down for a friday-sunday and we can knock some of it out. I know it'll be a hot mofo in Tejas about that time, but at least the days will be long

Had some spare hoses and fittings. I was determined to get a start-up video today. Through the lines on, and made sure that happened.




For the turbo feed solution, this is the easiest. If not running an oil cooler adapter.



Need to weld the AFR bungs into the downpipe. Mount the intercooler, and route the charge tubing. As far as drivable though, it can. No leaks, and sounds exquisitely race truck!

I made turbo pipes during the slap a turbo on it 90’s. Something I’ve never seen, a turbo plumbed to the exhaust but not the intake.

 

Got to test the In first, before the Out.

 

Is that the nvrslo race truck you’ve been working on? Do you know the owners or something?

That truck does need a shake down at rally ready to finish it.

That would be very fun. That course is on the small size, for what this truck gets used on though.

Yeah. This was kind of spurt of the moment. Went there to get a sticker, since mine was wearing out. Turned into a turbo build. Lol.

Neverslo, originally built my stainless exhaust as an upgrade for my STS turbo kit.

 

Drew this up in PAD. Rough idea for how to mount the intercooler.



Time to get a new step bit. The last necessary step, has a knick in it. Stainlessbros sensor bungs.




Finished off the late evening with an unusual beverage, that was way more refreshing and subtle of flavor than expected.

 

Basically repeating what I had posted in the Turbo B.S. thread.

I have only made this much progress on front intercooler support. Quite similar to the PAD design up above. One day I'll get a real tube notcher.





I swapped the sensors over. Both into the down pipe. The last few starts were without the sensors plugged in. Wanted it to run in closed loop. I also let it idle up to temp. I had seen some oils in the downpipe, when welding on the bungs. Was not sure it if was from my cutting fluid, so needed to get a good amount of time idling.

Came across this unfortunately.



More than evident that the used turbo has a bad seal. New one is on order though.

Been a busy week, and have not had quality time to work on it. This weekend, weather permitting, I will though. I am excited to get this intercooler support all welded together and intercooler mounted.

 

Made a little more progress this weekend, with the short time that I had available. Can't wait to get this fused onto the cage, tonight.
