I've read elsewhere in this forum that there's no roof rack made by Toyota to fit into the recessed track on the access cab model. Mine is 2018. Is this right? If so - what do other owners do?
It seems illogical for Toyota to fit the mounting hardware into the roof channels if there's nothing to fit to it.

I saw another post where the bars used were Perrycraft SQPM55-B - but this requires holes to be drilled in the roof (Professionally) and the cross-bars aren't adjustable. What can I do?

I also have a gripe...I traded my 2007 model for the 2018 model and, while there are many obvious improvements to this model - one of them is not overall quality and hardiness. Just going down a rough road on a cold day caused one of the plastic fasteners in the front wheel fender to break and the fender popped out at that place. The solution - purchase a whole new fender as the plastic retainers are part of the fender.

I feel ripped off and should have put money into my old model with 216,000 miles on it.

    That's all

I drilled holes in mine to use a prinsu rack.
The rack has been useful, but drilling holes in a new truck was nerve racking.
I’m not sure if there’s a solution outside of drilling, but I don’t know all the racks out there.

There are no mounting points under the channel on the roof of the access cab. There are Yakima or Thule rack options that friction clip in place around the window or door frame but anything that permanently affixes will require drilling

I bought the rhino ditch tracks for a double cab and successfully installed them on my access cab. 2014. It took some doing but I documented it in my build thread. The roof of an AC curves more so the tracks have to be bent but it was so worth it to have the infinite mount ability. See post #5.

I have victory 4x4s rack and love it 8 holes had to drill in but after checking and measuring. It turned out perfect.

The Prinsu on my camper shell is enough rack for me. I wouldn't want to drill holes in my cab, risk hitting an air bag, etc.

I dropped the headliner and seeing the proximity of the air bags loosened them and moved them aside. It’s a real concern but since I was installing noico as well it made sense to do both at that time. I took it through a car wash before putting the head liner back up and no leaks. I wouldn’t expect any with the bitumen patches on the outside and sealant bedded washers/nylocks inside. It’s not the sort of thing I’d trust to anyone else but I’m not phobic about drilling holes in my truck. The holes were all treated with cold galvanizing so even rust isn’t a concern. Those tracks are there for as long as the truck is mine. The racks that mount on them however are only there when I’m using them so no wind noise or mileage hit the rest of the time and those are also real issues. 5 minutes to install or remove. Not as sexy looking as the 80/20 bunch or even the oem rack but more stealth than either.
