Just traded up from a 2017 to a 2021 (both JBL). While i didn't love the Gracenote approach of using a picture of the artist (vs. the album), at least it was relatively consistent, even though sometimes between XML and HD FM i'd see the album.

However, on the new Entune system, i've yet to see either. All i get is the radio station image - never jumps over to album/artist art.

Checked all the settings and should be setup.

Anybody seeing the same or have any ideas?

Only the station logo is displayed while the vehicle is in motion. The artist images are locked out unless in park. This new behavior was introduced in 2020.

Did they find that the 10 year old photos of artists were too distracting?

:) No question about that. Alledgedly going back to displaying the artist images again at next model change. You can get around this by inserting switch in line to remove the speed sense input (Gray Connector R48 Pin-27) and installing a parking brake signal bypass (White connector R49 Pin 20).

No joke. Made the mods to mine at the same time I added a front anytime camera. Modified the harness that came with the camera rather than the factory wiring.

    JBL and what year?

I'm moderately intelligent....but could you be more specific on how I might try this? Basically you are just rolling the head unit to always think you are parked, which could be handy.

Correct. You are essentially removing the speed input to the radio head unit and providing a ground to the parking input. The parking input bypass is available from Amazon. I purchased this one. <https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01L6Z1WY...&pd_rd_r=62e1806c-67fe-40e1-8d72-640264fa62a6 . The headunit I am using is a 2021 head unit from a TRD Off-Road Toyota PN: 86140-04200 manufactured by Pioneer. It is a non-JBL head unit with HD Radio functionality. The connector pinout is alledgely the same. (see attached)
