I wouldn't buy it just because I expect it will be made from low grade soft ass Chinese aluminum, maybe 10% stronger than the thin OEM steel skid.

But if I were interested in one, I don't think it will be a problem with the TRD logo. Trademark protection is an interesting subject, have you ever wondered why some well known trademarks seem to be used by everyone and others can only be used by the legal owner?

Case in point the infamous Chevrolet bow tie emblem is printed on shirts, jackets, car parts, floor mats, etc. by anyone that wants to and GM can't do a damn thing about it. On the other hand...try selling something with the Harley Davidson logo on it and see how quick you end up in court.

Trademark protection requires that the owner vigorously defends their exclusive right to the trademark, if not you forfeit the right to exclusive use. Chevrolet didn't object when hot-rodders were printing t-shirts pledging allegiance to Chevy power, and when they tried to regain control were told to pound sand.

The boys in Milwaukee have always guarded their trademark Bar and Shield® logo, knowing full well the value of the brand (not as valuable now, but still) In the early 80's H-D issued limited licenses to use their name on a multitude of products. Beer, cologne, shoes, purses,sunglasses,baby strollers, you name it. The amount of cash generated paid off the debt incurred by Vaughn Beals' group that bought H-D from AMF as well as paying for new machinery and tooling to start one of the biggest turn arounds in motor vehicle history. As far as cash value associated to name, few were worth as much. Coca-Cola and Walt Disney being the top dogs.

What does this have to do with Toyota TRD? I'm not convinced that Toyota isn't in the same position as Chevrolet. I've seen a lot of TRD branded merch that is obvously not from Toyota. They would probably sue the shit out of someone for using the Toyota name or the "joined circles" logo, but...I think they forfeited any protection on the TRD brand.

I'm afraid it will be more than $50.
When I bought mine via Toyota parts ,the shipping was north of $100.
So you may ended up in the ball park of official product.
Toyota has a chain of participating dealers for local pickup, no shipping cost
