I was measuring the boot by the cabin and bumped my head on the carpet headliner with a hat on and noticed a shitload of residue on my hat. Noticed if I rub the liner with my hand it releases the same residue, pretty much everywhere i rub. Looks like a white fiber? I vacuummed the carpet previously cause it was super dirty before but didnt see this residue until now. Is it fiber glass pieces? Or old glue from the carpet attaching to the shell? ASBESTOS? lol

It's either the glue or the actual headliner material falling apart. The headliner is made from plastic fibers that break down over time. The glue will also start to let go from all the heat it's exposed to. How old is your topper?

Its very old AFAIK, like from around 2004, but I think you're right. It is very old and its pretty beat up, so I think the carpet is falling apart.

I ended up selling it. Gonna decide if I want a better condition one or a soft topper.
