I am guessing the cover was installed at the Dealership instead of at the Port.

Surprised there is not a sticker for Driver/Passenger seat weight limits. :burp:

Pictures many, going to look under the seats for the sticker :bored:

TrdPro grille, blackout badges. Pretty much stock.
They check your Vin and pop that sticker on when necessary. Your truck is inherently weaker than ours by 53 lbs. If you take it to socal they'll take the sticker off. :benchpress:

Technically there is. The payload sticker does include the driver and passengers. I even have a payload sticker on my Honda, 800 lbs. The one on my Tacoma is 1200, my F150, 1600. Even the 2020 Ford Explorer is 1500. All numbers rounded off since I don't feel like going out and opening doors for exact numbers.

It's surprising to me, but apparently most people don't even realize the payload rating is posted on the drivers door jamb of their trucks. This is extremely important if you tow. Payload is simply the actual weight of the truck subtracted from the GVWR. The GVWR is going to remain constant within model years. But heavier trucks with more options reduce the available payload. But seriously, the additional 5-50 lbs shown on these added stickers aren't enough to be deal breakers.

People who tow seem to only look at the tow ratings, which is 6500 lbs for most Tacoma's. But the payload can vary between 900 lbs up to over 2000 lbs depending on the exact truck and which options are on it. But most fall between about 1100-1300. The tongue weight of a 6500 lb trailer along with the required WDH is almost 1000 lbs. If the driver is over 200 lbs you're overloaded. Forget about any passengers or other gear in the truck.

That is why the rating are there. To help calculate true tow ratings. Figure out how much you and your passengers weigh along with any gear you plan to put in the truck. Any remaining payload can be used as tongue weight. And with most Tacoma's that means around 4000 lbs or less.

Does it account for the weight of the sticker?

    (kinda like Heisenberg’s Principle)

I have the same sticker on mine that I just noticed the other day. My truck is a 2017 SR5 and its all stock so I'm wanting to know what was added for this weight difference?
