Hey folks. My engine has been stalling when I put the truck into neutral. Luckily only at low speeds so far and has only happened 4 times in the last week. I was curious if anyone knew the part that controls idle when engine is in neutral or has experienced this issue before. Attached is a screenshot of live feed RPM of me trying to reproduce the issue. Notice the dip lower than the rest. Baseline is about 650rpm and that dip hit about 200rpm causing engine to nearly stall out. Any help would be appreciated as the dealership has been less than helpful.
    Cheers

I had the recall done 3 weeks ago so yes that could be the issue however dealership looked it over and said everything was done properly. I never had this issue prior to fuel pump recall work (30k miles)

Take those off, return to stock, disconnect battery cables and touch them together to reset and re-learn. Then report back if the problem persists. Always look where things have been changed from stock first.

You should look into tuning your truck, btw. The mods you have will pale in comparison if you're after a little performance gain, as well as a better driving experience altogether. I'd especially recommend it if you still have this issue after you toss the stock parts back on.

    Good luck my friend!

Posted above before seeing this - the problem started right after the recall was done?

Think you should run it back in and explain your problem. Sounds like they should recheck. Kind of unusual that the problem started after the recall

Is the idle in neutral steady while not moving?

A small vacuum leak could cause stalls. After installing an intake there may be a chance there is a leak.

I'm leaning towards the sprint booster now.

Yeah, respectfully, I'd take the pedal thing and the K&N off regardless

Sure man, wish we could come up with a concrete solution for you over the keyboard but this is prolly gonna involve a little trial and error before it gets sorted.

If this started right after the fuel pump, you're in a lot better position for the dealer to buck up and fix the problem they (probably) caused without the aftermarket performance parts on your truck, they will point at that stuff all day long as the culprit whether they're right or not.

I put the garbage fake performance parts on more than 10k miles ago. Problem first occurred Monday so I took it in Tuesday morning and the tech claims they went over the work and they could not reproduce the problem. So no fix was done

they have not brought up the aftermarket items but I have the stock intake I will put it back on and unplugging the sprint is also simple. The battery cable thing I have not heard of

Frustrating. There are always other dealers, but like I said, if things got fucky after the recall the best course of action is to give them nothing to blame it on. And if it happens often enough, or you can replicate certain conditions to cause it yourself and know when it's coming - you can grab your phone and film it. Then you have that to show the service advisor and duplicating the problem becomes a scapegoat they cannot use.

Lots of people just yank the negative and wait 10 seconds but touching them together discharges everything and I'm under the impression that's a little "harder" reset.

Edit: just be careful to stay away from your battery terminals during that process if you disconnect both cables.
