Folks disobeying trail closed dates/times, littering, off trail damage from ATVs including protected wetlands, disrespect and damage to private property, damage to state property... the list goes on. It’s a real “fuck your feelings” fest on that trail system.

Damn Got my support to close it! I know nothing about those trails.

Done. I go there often. It’s not far from the cabin. My suggestion was to add some more difficult trails. The existing ones are too easy, but still fun.

Can’t help with a local store, but it’s easy enough to DIY even with the 6MT. Got mine on here from N2 designs years ago. DIY install was pretty easy and it works great. They’re a stand up company that’ll walk you through it if you need help.

Anyone on here done the TWAT? A buddy of mine and I did part of the south section a couple years ago and we are going this week to do a north section. Just looking for any input, advice or suggestions.

I believe @Shellshock has done at least parts of it. I'm curious how much of it is actual trails and how much is dirt roads.

Seems like about 90% of it is just dirt and forest roads and not much for trails but it should be scenic with some nice camping.

98% of it is gravel roads. I haven’t done the section north of clam lake yet but the section from Lansing to clam lake is all just gravel roads and nothing worth seeing.

Lansing to potosi is the best section I’ve done.

if you are going north, I’d skip to clam lake and go north from there

Nice thanks! Yeah we did the section in Iowa and then went south to Potosi and a little farther on our way to New Glarus. Agreed that is a beautiful section! I love the driftless area. I think we are going to jump on it at Hawkins then go north to the end of it. So we will hit clam lame on Thursday or Friday. If we don't make it to superior we are at least going as far north as the Delta Diner. My buddy is going to take his Vangon this time instead of his taco so it will probably slow going for the most part.

I agree about the driftless area. A group of my college buddies used to go a place near Ferryville (right across from Lansing) every year in the fall. I've driven the river route between there and the Twin Cities many times (both sides). I've taken my boat down as far as Lake Pepin. I wouldn't mind some day taking it farther.

The driftless is definitely one of the best places around other than the north shore. There's a lot of little campgrounds, scenic views, hiking trails, bike trails, and the roads are amazing if you have a motorcycle.

I'm going to make a run of the TWAT this summer. I've heard mixed reviews of it but living out of the truck for a few days sounds better than working.

It really isn't much. Hawkins to the end was pretty but nothing difficult or to interesting. There is one road that is more for ATVs now and I skipped that but other then that it wasn't to special. Dusty as hell last weekend! Everyone needs to go to the Delta Diner though the food was amazing!

Looks good! What did you use to mount the license plate? Would you mind posting a couple more pics?
