Volk racing TE 37 on my tacoma

I got some 18x9 0 offset. Granted I did throw some 275/70/18 KO2 tires and I do def rub a little bit with a 2"-3" lift. I did the 'Viper Cut' last weekend and that helped a smidge. I'm probably going to do the CMC, and buy a spanner wrench to take the lift up as much as possible.

I did get my info for tire size/lift amount from a thread here....So that guy lied. It looks beefy and I like it, but its not the most practical. I've been a lot more cautious with daily driving, going camping is going to be a whole new story.

It is also my first time owning a truck and trying to spec out tires and such for it, so I'll take the L this time and learn from it. Or just continue to spend money to make it work.

I do plan on taking it in for an alignment and maxing the caster out to see if that helps any as well. That's also another thing I've read here that helps out some. So, take that with a grain of salt.

 

I’m guessing most here would be getting them in 16s , your talking an extra inch in width along with the -20

 

I did consider going with 16's, but I already plan to lift the truck more in the future so I decided to go with 18's instead. All preference.

 

I did not use showstoppers simply because I did not remember this thread when I ordered.
Not sure how different vendors compare...

Appreciate the recommendation, but I ordered from Vivid Racing in early February.
I would have gone with showstoppers but searched online before searching TW and Vivid had the best prices I could find, but I’m sure showstoppers price is comparable.
So, the price was acceptable and Vivid’s initial customer service was pretty good. Still a 5+ month wait

 

Didn't someone on here say they wanted to see pics of TE37 scratched and damaged from riding trails? Ouch!
It's hard to tell in the pic, but it was a wonder that I was able to keep driving on this for another five days.
Do I think a lower quality, cast wheel would've held up the same? Absolutely not.

We've been staying on top of everything, unfortunately the biggest hold up is dealing with the port with the amount of ships just sitting. We do really want to clear everyone's wheels out, however it's been a mess when dealing with the current circumstances.

Correct, we do have quite a few containers. Each containing different po's we've placed through out last year. As updates become available for these orders - we will update the respective parties. Of course, the best update we like to relay is wheels are cleared and in our shop pending pick up, or shipping out.

This is unfortunately true. It's a very *interesting* situation, but a consideration out of everyone's control. Especially when considering health and safety of the workers.

Within the 16x8 offsets, et0 / -20 is hard to say which one is "best" for clearance when theres different definitions of what is best for the individual.

Both will clear hub / suspension components. The et0 sits flush with the fender flare, and well the -20 is about 20mm past flush. Depending on tire choice (brand/model/ and spec - size), that will also be consideration for fitment.

265/75r16 is the +1 size
285/75r16 seems to be the common upgrade for most individuals. Functional and looks good as well.

We try our bestest to be the best
Despite the current situation with the circumstances, we always try to stock these wheels. However, recent influx of interest has resorted to preorder/allocations as compared to the standard practice of taking an order and submitting it to Rays for the customer/client. We did like to mention that for the individuals who did place a "special order". (i.e single spare, or a niche combo of color/offset)

True.
Steel wheels are great for numerous reasons -- durability, ease of maintenance/repair, etc. But you definitely suffer in the aesthetics and weight categories.

Depends on who made the wheel. Low-quality casting would crack (may still hold air). If it's flow-formed from a half-decent brand like Motegi, it will usually have additional material (i.e. 2-3 lbs heavier) to make up for the lower material strength to still meet the SAE/VIA certification.

 

Has anyone mounted matte blue 16" wheels with Cooper STT Pro's on a Cement colored truck? I'm curious what that would look like.
