The tailgate damper on my 2018 has fallen apart and now the tailgate just slams down. Not really worried about the damper but the tailgate alignment is slightly off now. I'm still under 36/36 warranty but the dealer I brought said truck from is fronting on the repair. I was hoping they could take care of it when I brought it in for service but the part has to be ordered and the techs are busy, no loaners available, no clue when it can be worked on, etc. Not trying to deal with that bs.

The OEM damper is on the right side of the tailgate. Question: Is the damper unit on the tailgate side or the bed side? or both? mine is a mangled mess and I can't tell what goes where.

Also, are there any aftermarket non dampened hinges for the 3rd gens? I can only come up with 2nd gen parts nothing for 3rd gen. If I could I rather not have to deal with another broken damper, and probably add an aftermarket damper if I ever needed to.
