Once my sliders arrive, and I get them mounted, anything is possible!

Snow is still kind of a problem depending on where you are trying to go. Tahuya should be clear.

I went through part of Walker Valley 2 weekends ago and conditions were awesome. I was up camping around Beckler River this weekend, it's still too snowy to get over the pass, the snow is nasty, slushy stuff too.

Anyone have much experience around the area just east of the cascades? Seen some stuff around durr road outside ellensburg that didn’t look super technical but I’m assuming would be snow free

Glad to find this thread. Did the full thing last year over a week and had a great time. Would like to join for any of those 3 options

I'm still in for the trek.
I'm getting closer, to feeling better about wheeling my 1st Gen.
I ordered Sliders for it yesterday.
A trip to Tahuya last Saturday, and putting it through everything technical I could (I stayed off the Rock placements), I was very pleased with the performance.

For the WABDR, sliders and skids aren't really needed. They are a nice security blanket though.

    That's OK.
They'll be in-place when the added assurance negates the need ;)

Last Saturday, Tahuya was decent. No snow in the area.
Trails were still moist. Roads and trails exposed to the sun, were dusty.
I got to experience changing a tire/wheel on the trail. My son got hung up going over some big rocks. I tried a side-pull, and knocked my right front tire off the bead. Had I had a can of Ether, or hairspray, it would have taken about 5 minutes to fix. Needless to say, I was changing the wheel out, and back in business.
Back home, I had the original wheel/tire combo fixed and re-mounted within minutes.

    There's a High-Lift Jack in my future.

Good to know, at this point I'm not sure my Kings will be in before the run, do you think stock OR Bilsteins will last the whole trail?

I did it last year completely stock in my 2015 OR. Stock tires and suspension. No issues.

    Greetings Folks,

About time to make the PTO reservations. Per the replies, let's schedule the run for 7/31 - 8/8. It'll be toasty, so it may be a good idea to get your A/C recharged. Also, as it's extremely dusty, you may want to bring an additional engine and cabin filter - otherwise we can use compressors to clear them out. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

    OP dates revised.

Just stumbled across this thread, forgive my ignorance, but what is a BDR Run? Briefly scanned ridebdr.com, seems it's a North to South multi-day route, primarily focused on backroads? Drive all day, pitch camp, hang for a bit, rinse repeat?

Looks like fun! I might be in for a section or three, PTO permitting. In reading comments here, it's not a super technical drive, right? I've got sliders, skids, and better tires, but my recovery gear is minimal.

Thanks for setting dates. I’m in for the duration. I can post about gear etc if that’s helpful...?

You got it. It is a series of forest service roads that run from OR to Canada with a town/city pass through daily for resupply.

You have plenty of gear/protection for this. Stock trucks can make it just fine.

Sweet. I noticed there are 6 sections, but there are 9 days blocked out for this. Are some sections 2-day sections? I'm assuming you're blocking in a travel day at either end. Contemplating joining you folks until Ellensburg.
Run is North to South, correct?

Last year we went N -> S, this year I think the plan is S -> N. 1 day per section is all that is really needed.

Last year we managed a section a day. The extra days or just for fluff - I like a few days to recoup at home before returning to work.

We are working on a schedule and will update the OP with destinations and times once established.
