Finally got my canopy back on and the truck feels whole again. It was weird after almost 3 years to have an open bed for 6 months.

Headed for dry weather this morning. Got to see some of the damage from the white river fire. Beautiful country.
Also passed a ton of Tacoma’s in the area today.

Spent the weekend counting sage grouse in far, far southeast Oregon along the Nevada border. Weather was kind of normal for spring with moments of sun, wind, rain, and snow. Got a flat tire early which was a little nervy with the nearest shop hours away. I kinda like the looks of the steelie spare tho :)

I guess it’s time for some stt maxx skinnies.

It doesn’t show, but we ventured up about 5 miles of a rock trail alone, literally covered in branches. Earned some new pin stripes, used the bow saw in some spots (really wished I had packed the chainsaw) and ended up having the wife spot me while I had to back down about a mile of brush covered trail with a 500 ft drop off on one side. Nerve wracking but also exhilarating. I’ll see if I can pull any pics from the go pro to show the trail.

Managed to find some snow up at Brown's Camp near 7UP trail. @ 3200 ft.

Wasn't looking for it, nor did I make a go of it. I was only about 80 miles into Yukon 4:88 break in, so not interested in screwing them up. Just did some casual light duty gravel road driving in H4 to spin the front diff. Currently at 120 miles so far.

Found a little slope to give the rear a chance to fully flex now that I finally added my extended brake lines to the lift.

Now back to the water pump and timing belt replacement on my '97 Taco. Just took a break while it rained, as I am doing this outside in the driveway.

Snow run this weekend up on 48 on Mount Hood to Bonney Meadows. Snow is melting made trudging difficult. Went with folks from work, 3 Jeeps, 2 Tacos (including mine) and one Land Cruiser. First time with my new lift and tires. Performed really well, I am really pleased with them! Sort of bummed I didn't have to winch out of any situation though. Others in the group did. Fun day up to Bonney Meadows then we had to turn back as we were running out of day light. Coming back was difficult as the snow was melting and it was really slushy especially when we got back to 48. I think no more snow runs for the season.

That is going down to the White River Crossing. Between Wamic and Pine Grove.

At risk of taking us out of PNW posts we are down that way right now. Was feeling soft when we rented a bunkhouse at alvord instead of camping but the storms sounded much better from inside a structure. I can't wait for a boy's week trip out here to explore all these side roads.
