I check inventory online just for fun to see what's there - as we all know these
things actually on-the-lot are a bit akin to bigfoot - so local dealer lists 105 and a few
days ago it was like 170+ ... yet when I swing around the lot ( see second image )
none to be found. Usually an entire row 4-deep are loaded up with Tacoma's...

    Not today.

Further inspection of the website when see something like a 6-digit VIN that means
they actually don't have it on the lot, it's just allocated to them... what's more, the
SR 4x2's list-prices are higher than what I recently paid for my SR5 4x4 ...

All manner of articles out there regarding the chip-shortage and what it is doing to
every mfg - sending used car prices up and out the wazoo as well.

    Krazy-Town.

It is nuts out there.....looking around online this past weekend. Used 4Runner TRD Pro's asking $60K....and not just one. Taco TRD Sport in AG asking $5K over sticker.....and I gave away 35 sheets of plywood last year......:annoyed:

This is also true for RV’s and Powersports too. All of the RV dealers near me have mostly empty lots. Powersports Dealers too.

My Travel Trailer is stored in my yard, behind another trailer, behind a gate and is covered; point being you have to know it’s there, yet I still get people hitting me up about selling it.

What’s weird is some things are in really high-demand, others not so much. Want to buy a new truck or SUV? Good luck. A new car, take your pick! I noticed the same thing when I bought a new street bike a couple of months ago; the dealership can’t keep SxS’s or dirt bikes in-stock but street bikes are selling a lot slower.

Gonna be really interesting to see how this all plays out over the next year or so.

Guess it kind of depends where you are. RV lots near where I live are pretty full. Dealers still have cars to sell, for the most part. Certain models, like Mustang are pretty scarce. There are a couple, large used car lots close by that are still pretty loaded with cars and trucks....but prices are definitely creeping up.

Folks are going to say shortages, COVID, increased demand, increased freight costs

    The stockmarket
    Wood prices
    Soy beans
    Shortages in auto parts
    Diapers
    Home prices
    Bitcoin
    Dogecoin

    What else is going up?

The government printed too much money, and lowered interests rates too low for too long.

There is hell on the horizon. Be ready.

My neighborhood has a monthly bulk trash day, I just picked up a few sheets of plywood someone had laying out on the curb.

Basically bought mine off the truck back in October. It hadn’t been logged into inventory yet.

    Tacoma sales going strong:

"After the first three months of 2021, the Tacoma has pulled a big lead over its rivals. 66,449 units were sold in the first quarter, up 27.2 percent from the 53,636 examples that were sold last year in the same period."

I remember when someone here was downright hostile toward me (crazily so, I might add!) because I suggested Toyota would overcome the pandemic and sell more vehicles. If you are a product manager and your sales are up 27% you are golden!

I got excited for a minute because this dealer left a voicemail offer of $33000 for my 2018 2WD Sport. But then I wondered what I would trade it in for?

Sell your Taco and buy Ethereum with the money. Thank me later when you sell the Ethereum and buy a new house (cash) and new hybrid Taco for cash ;-)

I have to be honest with you. I want to see it in person. :)

Looking for a fun, goof around kind of car. I have the BMW as a daily driver and the Tacoma for trips, off road, etc. Was thinking about the Bronco ... but I would be lying if I didn't;t think that Santa Cruz was kind of cute. :)

So I get it ... not as a Tacoma replacement .. but it does look fun ... !
