Gritto update.

Who's Gritto? (I hear you asking...)

I've been very busy and cranky as all Hell.
And tired.

1) Finally got rid of my tenant and completely renovated the condo.
Paint, new appliances, blinds, blah blah...

Listed the condo as a turnkey showing and got 2 offers at full asking price the first day.
One was for cash, which I accepted, but he subsequently backed out, forfeiting his $1,000 deposit.
Said he got unexpectedly transferred.
The other offer (conventional loan) is now under contract, closing on May 31.

I'll only inflict a couple pictures on you:





2) Put in my notice at work a month ago.
Wednesday is my last day.
All the gals at work have been pulling pranks on me.
They're gonna miss me...

3) My Social Security is scheduled to start in June.
All you fine hard working (tax paying) folks...keep it up.
I'm counting on you.

4) As soon as I can wrap things up, I'm hitting the Appalachian Trail.
It's too late in the year to go northbound (called by through hikers a NoBo) from Georgia.
That would mean I'd be on Mt Katahdin in Maine in November at the earliest. Nuh-uh.

So I'm gonna attempt what's called a "Flip-Flop".
I'll start right here and go north.
My house is 2 miles from the Trail, and within a few miles of the midpoint.

If all goes well, I might be at the northern terminus on Katahdin in late August.
Then take the bus shuttle to Bangor, rent a car and come home.
Stay a week or so until Mrs Gritto gets tired of me...
Then head south from here, headed for the southern terminus on Springer Mountain in Georgia.

That's the plan, anyway.

I'll try to post some pictures occasionally.
