2021 TRD OR; switching from the stock 265/70/16 to 285/70/17 on 17x8 zero offset rims.

Anyone know what can actually be stuffed in the stock spare location? OK with making mods if needed. Just looking to not hog bed space or do a rear bumper / hitch carrier if I can avoid it right now.

I got a 255/80-17 (small 33’s), stuffed in the stock location. Had to cut the tailpipe at the rear axle, and bang the tire supports down. Not much room for anything larger.

Some people with onboard air deflate the spare.

Yes I have exact setup u described, see video. I now have new MT tires in that size and it still fits with rust simple mode without issues.

I have a 285/75/16 mounted in the spare location. I had to chop the exhaust down back to near the axle and grind of the hanger mount. The tire sits very close to the diff and the hitch.
