I’ve only done floating flooring and I don’t remember it being too bad. I think the prepping is the tough part. I need to tear out old beat up flooring and a bunch of tile.
I can’t tell for sure but give me a heads up when you need help and I’ll see if I can help out. Just know I’m no expert by any means and if you want something to go wrong, with me helping something will lol.

 

So it's sort of floating, I believe. Except that I still have to tack it down. I already tore up the carpet, the carpet pad, and replaced some of the underlayment boards. My biggest thing is I've never actually done flooring before, so the corner spacing, lining, and all is fairly new to me. And Youtube is great, but only so good.

I don't know if it applies to Bamboo flooring, but when I did some laminate flooring last fall I had to use a good bit of leveling compound to get everything as flat as possible, and this was after having to replace all of the dog piss soaked subflooring from the previous owner.

 

Makes sense, I don’t remember tacking anything down on the floating floor I worked on before. I can’t say I worried too much about edge spacing either lol. I just found something about the size I needed and put it between the pieces and the wall.

 

I have a bag of dry levelling compound, I just wasn't sure if that was something I wanted to get into lol
