Didn't see an electrical thread so I'm just posting here. I'm looking for someone who has done the hvac swap from a 12+ into an 05-11 model. Keep getting mixed answers. I have the hvac assembly, new connector housing, and pins for the wires. What do I need to solder? Thought it was just a matter of cutting the existing connector off, repin the wires, put them into the new housing accordingly, and that's it. What do people mean by "you have to swap the and hot and cold"?

So you can either do one of two things with the hot and cold swap. Either desolder the rheostats on both computer chips and put the one from the 05-11 on the 12-15 or you can do what one guy did in the thread posted below and just solder two 22g wires to reverse te rheostat on the 12-15. As for the other connecter you can either cut the truck side harness off and repin the wires to fit the 12-15 connector, or if the 12-15 assembly you have still has the connector attached with wires hanging off you can then cut the harness off your truck and solder those wires together.
