My first Tacoma. What is the difference between the left and right springs? Have a broken driver side and need to replace.

Physically not sure, only know they have different part numbers.

Best to replace both. They wear and a new one would be mismatched relative to the old one.

If you're on a budget check CL or other simular sites for a set. There were none in my some what small city, but found a set about 200 miles away. If I was on budget and needed a set, I'd make that drive to save $$$. If not on a budget then I'd go for a set of after market that would be superior to the OEM leaf pack on the Tacoma. Plenty of threads on that subject.

If money is tight, I'd advise replacing the broken one with a used pack. Not just for cost savings, but also to help keep the ride even.

Thanks for all the info. I have found new ones online. I was wondering why they are designed differently.

They should be under recall. Toyota will replace for free.

I had the TSB leaf pack done in about 2013. 2020 I brought it in for a frame inspection and Toyota replaced them again with a newer style with updated leaf spring clamps.

Yeah my bad, already deleted my comment. I was looking at the pics on the second post thinking they were OP's. Too early, not enough coffee.

The Springs are replaced under recall? Or just the clamps?

Springs and I'm pretty sure they replace the u-bolts and plates too. At least that's how my truck came to me (it had recently had the TSB leafs installed under prior ownership).

Best I can tell the difference between left/right is just the brackets for the e-brake cable. The leafs have a front and rear to them so if you tried to install the left side on the right the e-brake cable bracket would be on the wrong side. You may be able to flip that bracket though, I'm not sure.

Either way, leafs can be had cheap. I recommend finding a set of 3rd gen leafs that someone took off when they upgraded. Often they're able to be found for very cheap and they'll be pretty darn new compared to 2nd gen leafs. Plus, they come with a small angled shim to help the angles a little compared to the 2nd gen leafs that don't have that shim.

Yea, check with the dealer on the recall. My local dealer replaced mine at no charge.
