Alaska Cruise

My wife and I are going to take an Alaska cruise on May 14th. We were wondering if anyone knows of some must-do excursions. It'll be our first time in Alaska. We're porting in the following places:

Ketchikan: 7 am -3:00 pm
Juneau: 7 am - 1:30pm
Skagway: 7 am - 5 pm
Prince Rupert: 4 pm to 10 pm

 

I did a heli-hike out of Juneau onto one of the glaciers (I forget which one) and it was amazing! It was geared towards beginners, they give you all the gear and some instruction about hiking on the ice. We even did some climbing on the ice walls.

Out of Skagway I took a scenic train ride that went into Canada and the took a bus back to the ship. Some absolutely amazing scenery up there.

Which cruise line are you going with? I was the the Diamond Princess and it was a great trip all around

 

I agree very scary walking on a glacier knowing there is a large freezing river running below the ice you are walking on.
Hopefully thick enough ice to hold yourself!!

My bro n law and sister have gone 2 or 3 times and loved it. I'll ask them to see what they suggest.

 

I've never been to any of those places but my best way to see Alaska is to hike but bring a gun because of all the bears

 

all great places and i have been to all but prince rupert, the inside passage is great trip. I have taken that route southbound and northbound 6 times. You will see alot of whales, porpoises, killer whales. They should take you right into Glacier bay and the views are amazing, hopefully it will be a nice day for your adventures. Each stop usually involves 4-6 hrs of shore time. You will have blast.
