Of course. Legacy of my consultant days. Now I use it when we get locked out of a daisy chain. Open theirs, and put ours back on. I got a whole suite of keys, caltrans, pge, etc.

They literally need a training on daisy chain locking. Some people are idiots.

 

Yeah there's a little parking area at the base of the trail that makes it easy to just hop out and walk up the trail. I believe that's the only way up to that spot so if the lot is empty then shouldn't be anyone up there. I think one couple was just hiking back down as we went up so we had the place to ourselves.

 

What day and time? I’m looking at monkey rock in Tahoe also. We’re going on a Saturday so I’m expecting people but maybe not due to some snow still being up there

 

It was in May around my birthday in the late afternoon during the week I think. I don't think Tahoe area gets too busy with tourists until after Memorial Day (from what I hear). Monkey Rock is another cool spot too. Tahoe of course has tons of awesome spots.
