I have the expand it 40v string trimmer, and its pretty great. I was able to clear a large swath of tall weed without any issues. If/when I need any of the other tools, I'll definitely stick to that platform. I also have the 40v blower and lawn mower, and have been using them for a few months and am happy with them so far.

I found one comment online that Ryobi's expand-it attachments are compatible with Dewalt's platform, and theres a youtube video of a guy with a poulan pro pole saw attachment on it, so it seems like brands are cross-compatible to an extent. I'm newly invested in Dewalt's battery platform, so building on that would be preferred.

False hope is better than no hope...:p

I don't think it will be a problem, but it's obviously untested. Google tells me that it's nothing new. Take your time and think like water. Seal it up everywhere you can.

    Same.

My mom just had a house build 2 years ago. At the 1 year inspection she had them come out and fix a bunch of screw pops from under the drywall mud. Never seen that many pop after a year.

I was there when the guy came over to fix them and he said they were nails. He said no one uses screws anymore.

    ????? Wut?!?

The hardware Mr Jay Bates is using in this picture are called Z-clips. You can make something similar out of wood if you want to go down that route but since you're a self proclaimed novice, I would go the z-clip route. Wood will expand along the grain so you'll want to put the clips on the long end. Hope that helps.

Close to wrapping up my portion of the work on this airbnb. Installed the 2 stair/step units (I had finished them a while back but needed the RAM board pulled up before installing) and built/trimmed out this small door to access the well pump (it's in a BR). Still need a small latch.

Was hoping to route the top sides of the treads... but they're freakin' veneer.

So much crappy work has been done to this place over the years. Not much is plumb/level/even.

Yesterday I fixed the door opener on one of my bay doors. Took awhile to trouble shoot - well first I figured out how it works (20V) - then found the wire to the second eye sensor had broken internally, then rewired and soldered the terminations rather than 20g to 22g twisted with wire nuts. Works like a champ and I was feeling cocky until we went out and bought a 60" TV and mount. That thing kicked my a$$. OK the TV was a good deal but mounting it and lifting in place..............took awhile..............That cubby is deep and I should have followed my crude instincts and mounted 2x8's or 2x6's flat across the studs to give the extended mount just that 1"+ extra boost...of course studs never in the right place..........end up too high the first shot even with the TV mount portion all the "down". Uggggg took the lag bolts out and lowered it 4"! But that worked (and I can adjust up if I want, but no need)........wife who is a strong sexy sinewy Asian at 115 pounds had to heft the other end.............yikes...........all the work I was either in the cubby or on my handy short ladder on the hearth and bridged 6x6 blocks for the other two legs...................fack..............sits just perfect..........ignore the greasy Italian fingerprints.

Yes this is true, there are a number of cross-platform products. There is a chart for what brands work with which I cant find the best one but here is an example.

It took 10 days of work, but my wife and I finally finished putting in our new LVP floors. 3 days were dedicated to removing vinyl floors and the underlayment that they were attached too. That underlayment was glued and stapled to roughly every 6 inches....I want to murder my builder. But it's done, my hands feel like I have horrific hands arthritis. 1700 square feet of flooring installed, I still have yet to put in quarter round, caulk along the shower/tub edges where the floor meets up and put in closet door guides. I also bought a CNC and will be making custom floor registers. More to come on that.

Can't remember if it was on this thread, but I put new screen and lattice around my screened porch. Back and hip flexors were f-ed up for a day. I've decided never to work on projects closer to the ground than 4 feet anymore. Or at least try not to.

Oh, and my radon remediation trick worked. Covered the sump pump pit and put a 4 inch mjffin fan on it, vented outside. Went from 600+Bequrels per cubic meter down to under 18. 600 is 3x the level that Health Canada says "DO SOMETHING!"

Sheet vinyl underlayment is supposed to be fastened like that , U-Lay even comes with little dots on a 6" grid to show you where to fasten it

I believe I would have installed the LVP over the underlayment rather than dealing with that lol

    A thing or two...
    Today, I mowed the backyard.

Yesterday, I cleaned and troubleshot my pool cover pump. The GFCI outlet is dead. There's also ants all in the outlet box which is new.

Sunday, I spread 20 lb of ant killer around the property, bug sprayed the shop, and put plywood liners on some wire shelves.
