3M clear adhesive Paint protectors

I have a 2017 TRD Sport and this 3M film was factory installed when I purchased it. I believe they call it part of the paint protection package. It has been on for about 4 years now and I have a few spots on the hood where it looks like a rock or something has chewed through the 3M film. My question is if I pull this off will it pull paint off with it?

I have heard 4 years is about all these are good for but I don’t want to screw up the paint by doing so.

 

I pulled some off and it did not peel the paint. It was at the door handles.

 

Yeah I have it there as well. I may try doing one of those first to see what happens.

 

Highly unlikely. At the worst it might leave a bit of residue but I doubt that as well.
