Get a new Tacoma, TSS really saved my ass/wallet countless times from rear end collisions.

    Check build thread!
Judging by the bend by the doors, and the seeming bend between the cab and the bed, I'd say 100% totaled.

I'm not sure what are the rules in California, that's why I specified that I'm from Canada. If it's similar to what we do here, they need to follow Toyota's guideline for any deployment of SRS. Often, you need to replace all the sensors(in crash area), computer, harness, pre-tensioners, seat-belts, clockspring, headliner, a-b-c pillar trim, seat frame++ after any deployments(plus the damages in the front). Even if the frame is not too much affected, the estimate will be high enough to scrap the truck. If the repairs are at 75% of the market value, there's a high possibility that they're going to scrap it..

I’ve actually wondered, what about for those of us with mods? Or non stock parts. Like steel bumpers, sliders, etc. I can’t take them back?

nope, unless you take a hit on the salvage price and keep the whole truck and take the money. You have a short time frame to get items you may have left in the truck before it gets shipped off but you arn't going to be parting it out

Most insurance companies offer an aftermarket parts coverage that would pay out addl money if you wanted that

I've not seen ins, that wasn't negotiable. Wife totaled my Dodge Ram 4X4, they gave me $400 extra when I explained I had put new tires on 2 wks. ago, no arguing. Totaled my Taco a few yrs ago, they offered like $10,000, I took $8,000 & I kept the truck & sold it for $3000. Early 80's totaled a Suzuki GS1100 motorcycle, after their offer I showed him my totaled helmet, told him I know it isn't a part of the bike but it is illegal to ride without it. He replied OK $100 for the helmet but I'm not supposed to. Like said, always negotiable.

Whoa, whoa now maybe that truck identifies as a red truck. This is problematic thinking. Do better.

Part of me wouldn’t want it to be fixed. You would lose value on a trade or out right sale because it was repaired. The whole time driving after it was repaired I’d be waiting for something to just be a hair out of place. A louder engine tick, a rattling hood, alignment never the same or a body panel just not lined up right. (Too much of a gap in the door/fender on 1 side. )

Looks like someone is getting a new Tac.... someone is getting a new 4Runner! Lol

Another TRD Sport hood on the way to the junk yard.
