radio signal weak.

I have a 2015 sport with oem stereo/navigation. I installed a dual usb/battery meter plug underneath the radio console. when I have the phone plugged in charging. my radio signal goes bad. any ideas?

My guess is the charge circuit is making dirty power. Wrap the charger, cable, and phone in tin foil. Ground the tin foil. See if that makes it better.

Obviously this isn't a solution but could help find the cause

 

Sure its the radio signal? There could be a problem with power circuits.

 

Nope but using foil costs nothing and would rule out one possibility.
