Real Estate and used cars are going like hot cakes right now. Tried to go look at a newer corolla for my wife and they sold it an hour before we called.

considered it, but with the price of lumber right now, I didnt feel like buying 1500 square feet of plywood to put down where we had carpet and other flooring to bring it level with the underlayment.

Oh yea. When I was looking for land to build at the end of 2019 there were about 40-50, 1/4 acre lots available. Now there are none to be found. Its nuts. My house finished in November 2020. I got calls in December asking if i want to sell my house lol.

Yes I get called every month from Toyota asking to sell them my truck and will give me X amount. no thank you. Im not selling you my truck for $34k and then would need to buy a new one for $45k. nope nope nope

Why dont you put some tile down. It would be better for water leaks in the future. Depending on the size of your laundry room you can prob get it done with 2 or 3 boxes. Again depending on the size of the room

It blows my mind that KBB shows that my Tacoma's trade in value is $7,600 more than I paid for it 13 months ago. My wife joked about selling it, buying me a Civic and getting a '24 Tacoma when the prices are, hopefully, back to normal.

Reading ya'lls inspection stories makes me glad my area isn't as stringent. As a home owner I can do anything I want to my house, structural, electrical, plumbing, name it. When I did my first major renovation I called the city and asked about permits. The bottom line of their response was the permit cost paid for the inspectors time, but as a home owner it wasn't required. Doing things to code isn't that hard, and I have no incentive to do shoddy work on my own home, so I've never pulled a permit. I don't know what the rules are for contractors. Since they do have an incentive to cut corners I'd want an inspector to look at their work if I was uncomfortable doing it myself.

Fair, ant can’t disagree. I just don’t get why someone would live somewhere they had to out up with that. If I want to paint my house pink and green, I will!

Because I got 1800 sq ft of free flooring, that is 100% water proof and safe to use in laundry rooms and bathrooms. And it was free.

There is no such thing as water proof flooring. Standing water will destroy anything. Especially any type of plank flooring.

I recently ran some numbers on how much the wall I built around my patio would run me now and it came to right at double. But quadruple?!? Glad I got it done when I did!
