So a heat gun can remove the bubbles? I am doubtful these are due to user wear. My truck is two door and I'm a bachelor. The bubbles are everywhere, on the passenger side also. SLC is a desert and pretty dry.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.

Salt intrusion, you have wet salt water under the coating and continuing to eat at the metal underneath it. You let that get well beyond repair you will need to sand those areas to bare steel and recoat.

Thanks for taking a look at my problem. You're right. So it would seem like filler plates are only a good idea in California and southern desert states.

Over three years daily driving. This is how they look without salt water intrusion. Yes being on the west coast helps a lot when dealing with rust.

Any location that salts the road will cause rust you just have to make sure no bare metal is exposed and fluid film or rust prevention annually.

You picked one of the best fabricators!
Your best chance for a discount is with a deal of the day (I think it’s called) or the Black Friday sale.
The wait can be...or sometimes you might get lucky:notsure:.

    Got the sliders all painted.
    1st Cleaned:

    Then self etching primer.

    Then paint:

Then bed liner on the fill plates and another coat of paint.

    Driver side bolted up.
    50FB727F-6ABD-43B3-BECA-86D7AB48208E.jpg
There seems to only be 7 bolt holes that line up. No holes in the frame for these two holes.

@JLee can you give me any guidance on the install? If I need to drill these out what is the best way?

No you don't "need" to drill any holes. the frame plates are used on all 05 Plus frames. the older trucks have more/different hole locations. Just put a bolt in the hole that they fit into. If there is no or a to small hole nothing goes there.

@JLee So you are saying it is OK to have 3 extra bolts for each side? They seem solid so I'm not worried about them going anywhere. Torqued to 80lbs per the instructions. Thanks for the confirmation.

Correct it's the same bolt pack for all sliders newer trucks will have extra bolts left over.

But will you be eligible for any discounts? 15% is worth a few months wait in my opinion.
