    Newb here,
I am interested in lifting my 2wd pavement princess mall crawler. Been putting it off but the time is near. Riding the last tread off my current ATs then figure buying new bigger tires (probably 33s) + lift all at once. Have been quoted $3535 for an Icon Stage 3 lift kit (installation + alignment). Looking to achieve a 3/1 lift/level. I have some concerns about the truck not being capable enough for this set up (2.7L) without regearing. I am thinking while I have everything open and apart, regear and *maybe* add a locker. I also love the look of the Viper Cut. All things considered, what does a price tag on this project look like? I am down south in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex (Texas) if anyone has any specific shops/mechanics in the area they'd suggest. Pic related: My 2017 SR-5, the Night Hawk

Also, topic within a topic, is the Icon Stage 3 overkill for a 2wd? I am anti-spacer lift, anti-anything Rough Country, not interested in Bilstein 5100 for some reason (probably bc 6112s are stock on ORs). What lift would you suggest for a 3/1 lift/level on a 2wd. Looking to improve the daily driver ride quality and do some light off roading/"pre-running"

Installing it myself or with a buddy is not an option unfortunately

**In short, average cost for 3/1 lift, 33in ATs, regear, viper cut
    Any help/tips/advice is greatly appreciated!!!!

To be honest bud if you’re looking for aesthetics only obviously with a 2wd truck...I would find something cost-effective. There’s nothing wrong with a spacer lift for a mall crawler and your truck will retain similar drivability with mostly stock suspension components. That said you can also buy replacement parts at your local auto parts store. Surely you can go with a high and lift and spend whatever you want but for something that’s going to be 100% on road use it’s kind of crazy to spend all that money. Just my opinion good luck

6112s are not stock on any Tacoma's. I'd just do eibach for $1K otd install included.

As what @Fpc187 said. Anyway it’s your money. And 2.7 with 32/33 inch tires will be slow off the line and will be busy hunting gears on incline or strong headwind. Anyway to answer your questions. With those goodies you have lined up, think 7 grand upwards

Maxtrac spindles if you want 4” . If not i would go 5100, 6112, fox, king, all 2.5 / 3 inch. I have 5100 on my 2wd with 884 ome springs 1 1/2 “ front and to me its fine . Forgot Eibach is good , you have protruck 1-2.

I took off an air dam once
im going eibach stage 1 kit on mine, i too have a 2wd 2.7l. Tire size is where im stuck, trying to get something SL rated to keep it light, the smart size would be 265/70/17, but even on the lowest setting i just think itll look too small. I've been mulling skinnies though, either 255/75s or 255/80s. At the moment im in about $1900 with SCS Ray 10s and the eibach kit plus the 1/4 tacolean spacer, waiting until after this month to get tires and install it all. EDIT: i am trying to avoid re-gearing as well if i can, even though the truck would immensely benefit from it.

Trade for a v6 4wd and get the Icons. Or get a spacer lift for mall crawling. Call it a day.

Ok I may be wrong on the 6112s being stock on ORs but I still just feel like I'm getting something kinda basic or not much of an improvement from stock if bilsteins of some sort are stock on ORs. I realize its an SR5 but I kinda prefer going the built not bought route. I think another main reason why I am opposed to the bilsteins is because I'm looking to go 3in in front and 1in in the rear and the 5100s only go up to 2.5/2.75 inches on the highest setting and I hear its rough on that highest setting. I'm really looking for comfortability on and off road. Even if off road only means a lil bit of gravel/dirt/some mud but nothing too crazy. I'm somewhat open to the Dobinsons/OME lift but I know 5100s are usually incorporated with that specific build. I also want to be able to flex a bit without any issues

honestly not a bad idea but I think at this point I've committed to stick with this one for a while and maybe see what Gen 4 has in store

I don't know. I really do not know. Ya got a 4 banger 2wd and I get that. I understand why a 2wd mpg averaging machine make sense. I don't know why to make it look and get the mpg of a 4x4?

I think you'll be severely disappointed after spending 3.5K on an Icon kit then another 1K+ on tires only to find out how bog down the ride is around town.

Dibinsons might be too stiff for your taco set up unless add aftermarket bumper or winch . Research on it. Post pics or make a build thread . That would be awesome . Looking forward.

You’re statement about stock suspension means you need to do some research. Then ask pertinent questions. Start over. If you don’t even know what comes stock on X model, you don’t need to be ruling out or suggesting alternatives.

Stick with your Icon stage 3 lift kit and 33”s you won’t regret it! Keep your old parts just incase you ever want to go back if not you can easily re-buy a used set off Craigslist or offer.

IMO Icon stage 3 is overkill especially if your going to trade it in a coupe years. I know you say you are Anti Rough Country but I would seriously consider their new vertex coil overs which are getting great reviews form the Jeep guys.

okay, what if a couple of years was more like 7ish+? Sitting at about 75k miles, plan on having it for a good while. Feel like she's just getting started. Does that change opinion on topic? Also, i've driven a lifted silverado with the RC vortex set up and honestly I was impressed. I know that it being a silverado with maybe a 4-6 in lift isnt apples to apples but it did ride like a Cadillac which was cool. I still kinda insist on no RC either way lol. Do appreciate the input
