Sub enclosure and Amp location question

Has anyone had any experience with a company called "subthump", and if so has anyone ever tried out this sub enclosure:

It looks clean, I just wanted to see if anyone had any experience dealing with this company and/or had this box.

Also, does anyone know if there is enough clearance to put an amp in between the rear two seats, behind plastic piece that the seats are molded in?

 

Seems like a steal of a deal for a "custom" box

 

my buddy got a box/sub/amp combo from them for his camaro.. he seems very happy with it

 

it did not look like there was enough space back there, but it probably depends on the amp.

 

I have that sub box. I put my amps under the seats. Fits great and sounds great

 

taco06 has the right idea. Mounting the amp is under the seat gives you easy access to make adjustments on the fly and you don't have to drill holes in the plastic cover to run wiring.

 

I have been thinking the same as you- about mounting the amps in the plastic bumps behind the jump seats. After taking the rear seat apart, I decided that there is probably not enough room and access would be a bitch. I have also wondered about heat build-up in such a small space. The only other option seems to be under the seats. The rear storage lockers are not big enough.

 

They look good, price really makes me want to ask them to custom build mine! =)

 

This past weekend i mounted my amp under the drivers seat, it is almost perfect because the carpet kit in the truck has a hole cut in it already, and there is a rubber grommet right below the seat/carpet, then a bolt to the frame right below that, makes for a clean install of the ground and power cables.

 

What size was the amp that you mounted under the drivers seat? Was it fanned cooled? What kind of wattage are you pushing?

It is not fan cooled.

and i'm only pushing around 300 RMS, but its been cold here in so cal so i haven't be able to test out how hot it gets. High temps have been mid 40's where i'm at.

the amp i installed is here here... yes its a budget amp, but it meets my needs, and actually puts out some decent power for the cost. and cant go wrong with a 3 year warranty.
