Need to reopen my headlights to do some work, sealed em with morimoto RR butyl tape last time. I imagine it'll be messy and I'll want a second set of hands available to manage the mess as I pry them open. Can I reuse the existing butyl tape to reseal afterwards, or should I clean it all out and apply fresh new to the channel?

I'd reuse and just add extra if you come across a section that seems low and might not seal enough. When I opened up my new headlights I didn't have to add anything. Just reheated and closed. It's the perma-seal that is a PITA.

Good deal. Yeah the perma-seal was a bear, hoping they come apart easier this time so I can just touch up my old handiwork without too much hassle. Got a whole extra roll of the butyl tape just in case though, heh!
