Has anyone wired a pair of ss2 pods with red backlighting as a reverse / brake light? It should be possible as the pod uses a 3 stage switch. Anyone try this?

"3" stage means either/or, so no Stop & Reverse at same time illumination.

I just realized it would be either or while the brake light itself will run both at the same time

If you're looking to run the back light dimmer as a running light and then when your brakes are applied it's brighter I'm not sure its going to work. You may be able to email Diode Dynamics to see if a dimmer module would work to dim the backlights. Theoretically I think it would work, but the unknown is the built in circuitry and if it would allow for a lower voltage input to allow it to dim. Seeing as they are designed for a minimum of 9v it would probably not turn on under that voltage. Also they should be the brightness from 9-16v because they don't rely on voltage for output like a halogen does.

I talked to the folks there and they said it should work! I just need to tie in the respective power wire to the actual lights and it should work!
