    Hey tacoma world,

I’m a new owner of a 2021 TRD sport. I will be towing my travel trailer in the summer months and wanted to attach a trailer brake controller. I purchased a Tekonsha P3 brake control after reading positive reviews about them. I also ordered a Reese O.E.M. Wiring harness as the adapter so I didn’t have to hardwire it.

The adapter doesn’t fit and I’m presuming it’s because there is a new towing package for this years truck. Does anyone know what kind of adapter will work?

I’ve attached a photo of the plug under the steering wheel

    Cheers

Plugin is on the left and your going to have to feel for it, can do a search on here to find it easier.

The plug in your picture is the OBD plug. The trailer plug is down and to the left, mine was tucked up between a thick wire bundle and the firewall.

Agreed. I had to take my kick panel off to find mine. Its hidden. All the way to the left and against the fire wall

That looks like the OBD2 port. I think you have to hunt around for the plug behind the driver kick panel. Might be hiding in among the wire bundle.
