    Good afternoon Fellow Taco owners

Looking to get some better sound out of my SR (access cab)with a new double din head unit,

not really looking for a whole lot imho and I have already done the kicker tweeters, replaced stock door 6x9`s (with Infinity Reference 9633IX) and i sound deadened the front doors with kilmat.

Here's what I am looking for in a new head unit....
    • Better clean amplifier than the stock SR stereo
    • Retain steering wheel control
    • Retain back up camera display
    • Clean looking install
    • Under 300
If there are any recommendations I am all ears. I plan on doing the install myself as I have in every other car I've owned

Just you’re wiring and adapters are going to run you nearly $200, if not right at $200.

Then you’ll need a Maestro RR compatible head unit, which will start at $300 for the cheapest ones.

If you’re trying to stay under $300, get the Kicker Key and call it a day. There’s a big thread about it, and how to install it

Any chance you can share info on the upgrades you reference for the sound quality upgrades? I’m looking at doing that in my SR, but not sure where to start, as I’ve heard we need to add power to the lines or something, before adding better speakers, but I’m a newbie when it comes to audio stuff, and need all the help possible LOL

From what I have read around here most do the Tweeter upgrade and that's pretty easy..... then you can install new front door speakers (and if you want while you are in there you can add sound deadening to your doors) that is all I have done so far.... I though about upgrading the head unit but want the steering wheel buttons to work and I understand that;s a thing... the kicker mentioned above has excellent reviews from what I have seen but I haven't put it in.....
