Went through the exact same thing yesterday. Kept getting the 2 red flashes and it was the data cable that was missing. After that, everything worked fine. Was able to mirror the camera from the Rear View mirror to the radio by running and RCA from the deck to the plug near the fuse panel in my 2010. I'll be doing a write up on that and the complete build once i get some more free time to type it up good.

Between the number of cables that just were not used and the kinda poor instruction as to where that data cable went this was a fairly frustrating install. Looking forward to adding amps soon.

Watched my installer guy laugh a couple times but He got ‘er done with practically no instructions. He did get the factory diagram for the cam screen in the rear view mirror though.

I was able to keep my factory cam in the mirror and add it to the Kenwood Unit as well. There is a connector to the left of the fuse panel with signal wire for the camera in the mirror. Splicing into those made it work in both places.

On the back of the Kenwood unit the markings are....poor. I had the cable plugged in on the other end to the Maestro but reading the proper port is best left to someone with younger eyes than me! LOL!!!!

Do the controls on the right side of the steering wheel work in yours? I can't get mine to work. I really want to be able to activate Siri with SWC.

Did you map functions to them?

Yes, voice button is mapped to voice or Siri off hook is mapped to answer call on hook is mapped to hang up but none of those work.

Got some stuff in the other day for the stereo. THis is why I hate vehicle electronics lol. I opened the datalink, vehicle specific harness and radio. I've never seen so many wires. I think I'm going to just have someone do this install. Way too complicated imo. I'll stick do mechanical installations hah.

Looks kinda intimidating. You won’t use all that wiring. Lay it all out before you install. Do all your flashes etc. Makes it easier to get your head around. Plan for lots of time. You’ll be fine. :)

Wish I had more pics of mine when I had it done. Most of the wires aren’t used as mentioned. I’m using a Kenwood but this is really the only pic I could find. I watched the 5 Star Car Stereo guys vids in you tube several times

Crutchfield customer service was a huge help. I think I have it mostly squared away. I just have to figure out the aux jack from the Datalink. I have the (3 or 4 pin, cant remember) hooked to the Maestro and the other end has the 90* aux jack. BUT, I already have the auxiliary cable connected to the RTO1 Aux cable from the harness. Which doesn't leave me with any open ports. So I just need to figure out which one I need to use and then I think I'm good to go and can test fit it.

Side notes; I'm going to have get an obd2 splitter. Didn't realize I need to hook this up to it and have the ScanGuage hooked up.
Or should I get ride of that? Can I view and clear codes from the headunit w/ the Maestro hooked up?

    Depends on the head unit.

You can get an obd splitter and hook both up. https://www.scosche.com/obdii-splitter

Any other Gen2 guys having issues w/ OBD / Vehicle information displaying? It's giving me an OBD error code. Say's it's not connected. I even had a "vehicle speed" not connected notification. I double checked the wiring. Everything seems good.

Anyone have some ideas? I've tried unplugging/plugging in the obd connector a few times. I also updated firmware to 2.01 which was smooth.

I do get tire pressure/temp. But not sure if that info is passed through the obd port or a different set of wires.

Installed the Pioneer DMH-2660NEX with the Maestro RR on my 2015 non-JBL application. I also purchased the wiring harness, all the appropriate adapters, to include the HRN-RR-TO1, USB and antenna, and the Metra 95-8235 Dash Kit. Skip the Metra 95-8235 Dash Kit, it’s junk and go with the Scosche TA2111B, Crutchfield has awesome customer service and refunded the cost associated with the Metra kit. I also opted for the Crutchfield ReadyHarness Service for $25 where they crimp all connections that need to be connected, totally worth it, I’ve wired and crimped stereos in the past and it’s a tedious process in IMHO and the Crutchfield crimps were quality.

Everything works, camera, OBDII features and steering wheel controls. Follow the Maestro RR wiring diagram specific to your vehicle and head unit and you’ll be fine. Make sure you flash the Meastro prior to install. I included some pics.

I have been reading through these pages, reading head unit reviews, and I have no steering wheel controls, microphone or rear camera in my 2008 Off Road. I have a BestBuy 3 blocks away and they generally have free installation on the good head units. I already know to buy the Scosche dash kit and am looking at rear camera options. Will this Maestro be better than the wiring kit supplied by BestBuy installers. Is there a preference aftermarket rear camera. Coming from a 3rd gen with these features to a 2nd gen with none I am a little overwhelmed with exactly the best course for adding some features. The only extra info I would like to have in a head unit would be specific tire pressures but I am ok with the idiot light. I also would like to upgrade to a all-inclusive radio/gps/satellite antenna to get sirius and nav in the truck. I am having my roof painted soon and figure now would be a good time to mount a shark type roof antenna like my 3rd gen had. Any recommendations would be welcomed. I don't want to spend $1000 for this endeavor. This is not a daily driver.
