    Thread Description:
In this thread I plan to list details and progress on my adventure trailer. I have obtained a trailer that has been sitting in the middle of the woods for over 10 years. I am creating this trailer for the purpose of camping and kayaking. This trailer will be pulled by my Tacoma or by a Honda UTV. Other uses for this trailer are for hauling tools, carrying seeds, fertilizer, etc. on our farm.
    - Mostly to keep up with my own progress and to gain ideas form others.

    About me:
    - Currently in college
    - 18 years old
    - Only have the weekends to work on this project.

10/5/19 - Trailer as it has sat for 10 years:

Brought the trailer in the building for the tear down.

10/5/19 - First Day of Progress:

Removed all wood and called it a night.

    10/6/19 - Second Day:

Started by grinding all of the self tapping screws out of the frame.

Next I begin removing the side post that were holding the sides on.

After removing the side post I ground off the old welds and sanded the entire frame.

As you can see the axle is welded to the frame so Later on I will need to to remove this axle and add springs. Since I am adding springs I will probably also try to obtain an entire axle to replace this one. I would like the axle to have the same lug pattern as my truck.
At this point a began to think that it would almost be easier to build my own frame from scratch and create it the way I would like it. Being that I am currently in college and very limited on funds for this project. I consider it may save me some money to keep this frame despite my dislikes.
Some things that I dislike are; the way that outer sides of the frame are made from C channel and is not pleasing to the eyes and there are some areas of the frame that are in bad shape from sitting for a while.

Here is a picture of it behind my truck in its current state 10/6/19:

    Near Future Plans:
    - Extending the tongue about a foot
    - Making the tongue extendable for multiple uses
    - Adding fenders
    - Framing the Sides

What I Hope for It to Look Like When Finished:

Good news is steel can be cut and re-welded to fix those "rough" spots. Fix it up. I can't see what you have for suspension on the trailer, but that is a must. I gave away a small trailer like that thinking it was too small. regretted doing at 1 day later.
