My truck has been making this sound louder and louder. While under the truck I can grab the driveline with two hands and it won't budge as i try to check the u-joints. Does anyone specifically recognize this sound?

Fluids are good, front and back. Could it be rear brakes somehow? Something in the diff? Unbalanced driveline?

Sounds like brakes to me... any other longer videos? When the rear is jacked up , does it do it too?

thanks -I'll get a jack wednesday and lift the arse-end. It does that warble/scrape sound (at the end of the vid) incessantly while driving, or nearly incessantly. One person suggested ujoints or rear axle being bent or broken.

    SOLVED.

While under the truck tonite - funny story...my son is visiting and we were messing with the headlights on his car when we started talking about front wheel vs rear wheel. To show him the difference we crawled under my tacoma - and as i looked back from the mid-section towards the rear end, i noticed part of the gas tank metal shield bend awkwardly - and i saw scrapes on the driveshaft. Turns out the knuckle/weight thing seen on the driveline was nocking that metal shield. I bent it back in place and the sound is no more :)

Awesome.. It did sound a like a sheet metal-ish sound to me. Was thinking brake backing plates, but I'm happy you found it.

Easy fix, buy why did the shield get so far out of place? rusted? Made me thing about the Zip ties on the driveshaft gag.
