Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I just ordered a set of black Westin ProTraxx 4” oval step bars for our 2021 TRD sport double cab. The guy at Capit said I MAY have to remove the mud flaps... Two questions, is this true or will they fit with stock flaps? Secondly, if anyone has these installed, if you could post a pic so my wife can see how they look (she’s all about the esthetics... )

Thanks, yeah I went ahead and got them, they look great, and easy to install. Just waiting for my rims/tires. Was supposed to be 6-10 weeks for the rims and I’m on week 5 or 6 now, then the lift.

I was thinking of getting the same step bars in stainless steel though. My question was the same do we have to take the mud flaps off and I see in your pic that you did not. Which is great cause I would hate to take the flaps off.
Thanks for posting by the way they look great on your truck. Tell me how much of a gap is there between the bars and the cab.

Yeah, the guy at Cap-It said I may have to remove the mud flaps or get custom ones, but they fit with lots of room to spare. Also just got a 2” lift and 18” rims and new rubber last week.

That is great that it fits without taking mud flaps.
Can you please measure the distance between the top of bars to bottom of cab. Just want to know how much of a gap there is. We get lots of snow up and slush here and just don't want it to pack up against the cab.

Did you have to get bigger tires and rims. What size are they if you don 't mind me asking.

I didn’t HAVE to get bigger tires and rims, just wanted them. Lol. I got the bigger rims because I like the look of a bigger rim with a little less rubber. These are K02’s, 275/70/r18 (the rims are a +1 offset and 9.5” wide, stock rims are 7.5”). Had to go 275’s because 285’s rubbed even with a 3” lift, so had to go slightly narrower and still had to trim the front little black deflector a little bit (about an inch just with a box cutter). I’ll have to measure the gap of the steps after my wife gets home with the truck.

Sorry for the delay, I think one of my kids stole my tape measure. So here’s a beer for perspective. Lol.
