How is the paint holding up? Would you mind sharing your painting setup/process?

Paint on the truck it's self? It's held up really well. I can do a lot of things, but painting isn't one I'm great at. Especially special paints like this Inferno Orange. It's expensive, and not the easiest to mix from what I'm told. We have a shop that paints anything we need when rebuilding vehicles. They also have a frame machine on the rare chance we need it.

The paint of the bumper has held up pretty well. I just scrubbed it down with a light wool and rattle canned it and the sliders. I use a semi-gloss so it's easy to touch up. The sliders need a repaint. With the tires sticking out as much as they do the sliders get sand blasted after a few thousand miles

Thanks! And me too... I didn’t really keep a spreadsheet this time. The most expensive parts were airbags. They are worth spending the money, but $1200 per bag stinks!

Nice job OP and Happy New Year.

What's your take on the salvage title status and future resale?

    Thanks and Happy New Year!
This is my, 9th rebuilt vehicle. I started with a 2005 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. I made money when I sold it, and bought my next one. I owe nothing on my truck because I bought and sold rebuilt vehicles. My dad’s the one that got me into it. He just sold his Jaguar F-Type S. He rebuilt it and like me made money. If you do it right, and don’t keep it too long you can make money. I’ve kept this too long to make money, but I like it too much to sell.:mudding:

Wow. It has been nearly a year since I've updated this post. Sorry guys!

Where to start, well the GFC is gone. We used it this fall for one more big trip (I'll include video links at the end) then sold it. There are a ton of reasons and I'll probably make a full post and video about it eventually. For now, the biggest reason is I found a camper that I think we'll like better. The Super Pacific Swithback. Like the GFC it's a wedge style camper, but with some improvements. The tent is attached to the frame with a track instead of buttons so there is no place for bugs to enter. There are doors on both sides, not just one like my GFC. Their is a better system for ventilation even when the doors are zipped up for rain. But most important to me and the wife, it's mattress is MUCH Better. It's the Exped Megamat which is one of the most comfortable mattresses on the market. Oh, and because it's longer over the cab, you can leave the rear panels out of the camper while using the bed. So if you have a diesel heater below or want to get out without disturbing your bedmate, it's easily doable.

Currently we are slayed to head to Oregon to get the camper in March.

We had a blast this year on our annual two week trip. This year we started exploring northern New Mexico, then hit the alpine loop area before making our way up to Yellowstone. That is some of the prettiest country! I'd love to move out that way.

What else? Oh, we just upgraded our fog lights to some new BA lights from Dark Defense. I've got a full review on those I'll post below.

We finally retired our K02s after 40k miles and moved to a new tire. We are giving the Toyo A/T IIIs a chance. They did amazing on our last trip and with around 7k miles on them so far we couldn't be happier.

It doesn't snow often here in TN. When it does, you go play in it!

This weekend my Father and I went on a little 3 day camping / snow wheeling trip here in TN and into NC. We had an awesome time. Both trucks did great, as did my Gazelle ground tent and his new Tuff Stuff Alpha.

Yikes, I haven't uploaded here in a while. So, Goodbye GFC and Hello Super Pacific!

We took a quick little 8 day, 6400 mile trip to Portland and picked up our awesome new camper! I will say I absolutely LOVE this new camper. We've used it nearly every weekend since we got it.

We've been working on the interior the last few weekends, and I should have a full video on the build process Friday. Until then, here are our thoughts on the GFC vs Super Pacific and a full walk around before the interior was built.

And, I know you are just here for Pics, so here are a few from the trip.
