New Car (truck) smell

I have been surfing these threads on info about retaining that new smell. Is it the carpet or seats that have that clean smell? Any recomendations? Not crazy about the tree fresheners or perfume smells. Just looking for a clean faint smell.

 

Get some Wet Okoles- my truck smells like new neoprene rubber now.

 

I seem to remember the chemicals that made that "new car smell" were no longer used and is actually a scent or spray. They have the air fresheners that have that scent to them.

Its actually the glues and plastics curing that give off that smell. Even though everyone including myself loves the smell, its actually toxic. A cae or truck is not sealed well enough, but if you got the fumes in enough of a concentrated dose it would be bad. But that smell is great. I think the only way you would be able to get it back or re-create it would be to get the actual products that are used, the glue and what not. Put a small amount of it in the truck. I don't know if it would be the same.
