For me I could care less what the spare is within reason as long as it’s the right size. When I got my 265/70r17’s I didn’t change the spare size since it’s not far enough off that it would cause any issue in 2wd before getting a tire repaired or replaced. If I’m local, the truck would sit till it’s repaired or replaced. If I was on the road I would got the next closest place.

But since I’m going quite a bit larger than stock it’s necessary. I do hear ya though, my OCD did kill me a bit having a mismatched brand and model spare. But now I’ll have all 5 tires and wheels that match, so it makes up for it. Haha

 

The 4’x8’x.75 I bought were $66 each

pretty sure they used to be like $40

 

I still have the factory wrangler under my Tacoma lol

and the factory Michelin on the tundra

I stayed stock size though.. it would just look goofy

Ya, many people don’t change the spare even when increasing tire sizes. I’ve seen plenty of “lifted” Jeep’s with big ole tires and stupid looking wheels that either don’t have a spare or still have the factory spare that’s like 3” OD too small. Looks comical. Haha

 

All that talk about lumber prices... I'm building a new garage, it's painful. Going to cost about 20% more than I had planned.

On the bright side. I have someone tearing down the old garage for free because he wants the lumber.

 

PSA. My cat was stolen last night in Des Moines. I live in an apartment and it was parked on the street.

Must be something in the water cuz I feel like everywhere people are going nuts not just the usual stories from Florida. Like the FAA was reporting that normally in an entire year they'll have 130 to 150 grounded flights due to unruly passengers. This year already, they've had over 1300. Must be something in the water

 

I haven't heard about CATs getting stolen here in the Quad Cities. Seems like they prefer to take the whole car around here.
