I just bought the shocks and that’s exactly what I plan to do, hopefully all will be well.

I am still trying to hunt the shocks. It looks like as of now Toyota will only sell it as 1 full kit. Cannot buy shocks alone. I am guessing once supply picks back up that will change. I have tried to order from 4 different Toyota dealers online and called 3 locally.

Yes, after reading this thread, I feel I got my order for just shocks in just in the nick of time!

No. I haven’t looked When I got home I walked up to it I touched that plastic garnish over the sensor and it slid back. But no light has come on, I’ve even had the grill off to install a front camera.

    In progress!
I read though most of these posts. Got a 2019 anyone's dealer bucking them on putting it on a model lower than a 2020?

Also planning on keeping the 16s on it for a bit, does anyone know how if they make the 16s look too tiny? Saw a pic of someones truck that had 16s and seemed to look ok.

Nice! Very clean black truck. I'm thinking 17" rims with 265s...or slightly bigger. Well done!

    thanks!
It’s not quite the well-framed glamour shot that makes a truck look amazing, but it’s the current state.

Mine worked as i new it would after i lifted mine. Was it off? Was just a matter of preference to have it checked and re-calibrated. Being a pilot, A Lot more variables go thru my head as opposed to others.

Serious question. If I put these shocks on my 2nd gen would I only get 2 inches of lift? I was considering going for a completely assembled Bilstein 5100 but if these give 2 inches and I can save some money with these then I'd prefer it. Plus they look better than the 5100's

First post on the site, and thought I would share my set-up & experience after one month with TRD OEM Lift. 2021 TRD OR, owned five months before the install, 10k mileage at time of install. Installed 2019 TRD PRO wheels (Offset +13) 285/75r16 Toyo Open Country RT (E Rated), running 33psi (cold) on road, 20psi (warm) off road. Tires had 6k miles on them (from another truck of mine) when installed. I performed minor clearance mods to the front. Took a heat gun to the front wheel well liner, and pushed it towards the front of the vehicle. Removed the bumper/wheel well liner tab furthest out from the frame rails. I installed Rally Armor Basic mud flaps (http://www.rallyarmor.com/product_info.php/basic-mud-flaps-universal-basic-mud-flap-black-logo-p-274), and used plastic low profile push pin style fasteners, and round head low profile screws. No clearance issues front or rear under full suspension articulation & full lock! I was pleasantly surprised after hearing all of the chatter online about clearance issues! I also do not have some of the other issues mentioned on this thread: needle bearings (vibration), and rubbing on the upper control arms. I think I found the perfect tire & wheels set-up for the mods I currently have on her. Front grill sensor calibrated well, rides stiffer on road then the stock 4600 Bilstein's (no major lean in turns...a nice "sport feel"). Driven off road daily in MT to get to and from home. The suspension is well tuned for what it is (single shock body no bypass). Nice control on medium speed washboard roads, and does just fine in the slow stuff. For what my perception/experience is worth, I have owned varying degrees of modified trucks. To include vehicles with 15k plus suspensions systems (uploaded pictures... "only true if there are photos"). I am not expecting King or Fox shock performance, but I am very impressed for what we can get for the price. I recently traveled from my home in MT to CA with this set up. I drive at the speed limit on HWY15 (65 - 80mph), but I am gentle on the throttle during acceleration. Averaged 18mpg when I arrived in CA. With a warranty behind it as well (one year or three depending), it is a great basic lift. If you have the means to afford the TRD lift, and are contemplating the Non TRD Bilstein 5100 VS. TRD lift. I recommend the TRD Lift to my fellow Taco owners.

This is the correct bracket for the camera. https://parts.freemantoyota.com/oem-parts/toyota-taco-suskit-bracket-pt59535210. I just finally got around to installing the grill.

Looks GREAT but aren’t you concerned about the cv boots ? Cv angle looks extreme. Boots won’t last long

Does anyone know if the Anytime cameras (standard or hi-def) will mount in the stock bracket described above?

    thanks!

The CV boots in the first set of photos are of a ZR2 I use to own. I was trying to convey experience between one type of suspension on the ZR2, to the TRD lift kit. It was the ZR2 listed on Baja Kits website. Yes they were extreme! I ran through CV boots every three to six months in the ZR2. The CV boots rubbed against the King coil overs, and would fail. I am an expert on ZR2 CV boot replacement now. You gotta pay to play whenever you are the first kid in the block with a new suspension set up. The angles on the TRD lift are not extreme at all. I will update with photos of the Tacoma CV boot angles later today.
