I got the passenger rock sliders installed.

Do watch their video, but remember it is "for all versions," and your Tacoma may be different.

    DCLB Tip:

Do not remove the bolt that is the center driveshaft bearing carrier support. You will see TWO slotted tabs on the bottom of the frame channel just aft of that 14 mm-headed bolt. Use a 3/8" bolt to support. It Helps to have two friends help lift both ends while you get the 3/8" nut and bolt in place. I'm a dumbass who thought, oh, I can bench press with one hand while I place bolt and nut—not recommended! I did rig two jack stands for my safety, but glad I didn't skip gym class.

Solo installation: Safety wire is your friend. Take an 18" long piece. Feed it down the frame. Pass it through the back nut of the "paddle with two clips in nuts," loop it around any bolt, and twist a few times. Slide paddle in. while pulling on the wire. When that paddle is in place, twist the wire around the frame. The bolt helps keep in place; now wiggle the handle and find the first nut. I was having a flashlight resting on the slider to see that nut. Note the blue tape on my frame. I placed that when the paddle was out as a reference to how far forward I had to side it.

Per side, you have two short bolts with spacers and one long bolt with a longer spacer. The frame will make a "C" channel. You only two of them feel the difference on the inner lip. I used the shorter ones towards the front, longer ones towards the rear.

I spent a few hours getting one side done; kids showed up for Easter, so that I will tackle the driver's side next weekend.

Twenty years ago, I had a hydraulic JD2 bender and made my sliders. Sticks (20 ft lengths) of DOM tubing, but getting that first slider done and looking nice meant going through 10 sticks. A month of work. Cleaning, prep, paint, or powder coat took hours. Everything about the Caliraised sliders is quality. I went with "0 degrees" as top plate, kid ingress, step for getting stuff off the roof.

For off-road severe, go with an ACSB with manual transmission and the 25-degree option to tuck them up. DCLB means more moderate trails, but I don't want to deal with crushed in rocker panels pinching doors!

tl;dr: Get a friend to help install. Give yourself an entire weekend—recommended product.

DCLB was 62# per side, and 10# in the hardware box. 134# total.

A foot shorter would save about 6 pounds per side. (120 wall 1.75 is about 2.0 pounds per foot)

Could you please explain the difference between 0 and 25 degree angle? What is the reason/application for both?

Which is the more durable option: powdercoat or bedliner?

Do you have a First Responders discount?

    Thanks!

The "0" means straight out from the frame. This is ideal if your spouse/kids will be using the slider as a "running board" and need that extra step to get in.

I went with "0" as it will allow me a good foothold while accessing the roof and top of my shell.

"25" will rotate the outer section at 25 degrees up, so it tucks up tight to the rocker panel. Ideal for hard-core rock crawling.

Neither coating holds against rocks. I went with a powder coat, like the looks and if I scrape I play on getting out black rattle can paint for touch up.

I'm a little too anal about my vehicles. Few little things.

I flipped the bolt around near the gas tank, to prevent threads from vibrating against the brake lines. Lenth of heater hose to space brakes line from the bolt head. It's a fine 10-year solution, but not a 30-year solution.

There are two 11mm (about 7/16") holes. Too small for 1/2" bolts. Slider holes are meant for 1/2" hardware. I made up a 1.5 x 3.75 x 0.25" steel place to cover the holes, used 3/8" hardware in the kit. Area of the two 3/8" is a little more than one 1/2" bolt so that provides the same strength.

You can see how I located the two holes so dead on. I had planned to use some AN7 aircraft hardware, alas didn't have the nuts on hand.

We discontinued our weld on sliders and I have 3 left!

I can do them for $650 and you can choose the coating on the filler plates.

going to do the install today, I am confused with the brackets (bolt on rock sliders) are not painted, they are painted in the video by Cali Raised and on their instructions. I did pay for the rock sliders to be painted. I would have been more okay with it, if the marketing info below did not already have them painted and never indicated that is responsible to the buyer.

I guess, I want to ask if others have painted brackets and spacers?

    Hi Carson,

Thank you for reaching out and choosing us for your Truck Armor. The hardware we provided is all CLEAR ZINC COATED. This is made to protect from corrosion or rust which works great on those type of hardware. These are all installed underneath and behind the slider which you can not see, so there will not be any view of the clear coat. Sorry for the confusion on the video, but there is no need to paint the brackets or spacers.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any other questions!

Can anyone speak to the usefulness of the 20 degree sliders as a step? I realize they're not intended for such, but seems like the kick out could be used to get to stuff on the roof (and they look great).

    Thanks!

This Instagram post show great angles of the 25 degree rock sliders. You can see they are very low profile which is the intention. You can maybe get your foot on the kick out but, I wouldn't say its intended as a step.

0 Degree installed. One bolt hole on the front passenger side was misaligned. Was not able to get one bolt in. Debating if I should ream that hole on the slider… Added extra bolts to whatever extra holes lined up. So far they feel solid
