    Hi,

I'm removing my starter. I got the bottom bolt out and I'm working on the top. I think I can get to it from the side or the top with an extra long ratchet wrench.

I just spent an hour trying to find one that gave a specific length rather than the absurd term extra long and then providing no information on the length. There also seems to be a multitude of companies making them although I can't find a web site for 90% of the referenced companies.

Anyway, has anyone bought an extra long 14mm ratchet wrench and which one did you buy.
I would list all the companies I found but am yet to find one that has a length you can hang your hat on. And last but not least who makes one that is long enough to do the job. And what is the actual length. I wanted the one that claims to be around 15 inches overall but can't find a seller that knows anything about what their selling. Best I can get is that it's extra long.

    Thanks,

    Lou

This is the one I picked up too. I can't tell you how many times this has been the perfect length tool. Thanks for the recommendation Zane.

FWIW, this one measures just under 13" long. It is 50% longer than the 13 mm ratcheting head Tekton I have.

    Platinum 99662 XL Ratcheting Wrench, 12mm x 14mm, 15.56" Long

Oh yeah, now were talking. Kinda pricey but this thing should get to that bolt from the top or the side. It's got to be done without being able to get your hands in there. It's funny. I had an Isuzu pickup years ago and had to buy my first ratchet wrench to guess what, take out the starter. I might have to break the bolt loose with a socket , but once it's loose you can rachet it out or in. I love those things. The other 14mm is a Gear Wrench. Nicely made. Very narrow. Nothing clunky about them.

    Thanks for the help !!

    Lou
