Lowering Tacoma

So i was thinking of dropping my truck to a 3/4 drop,any pointers on what i need other than a flip kit?

 

It's difficult to lower pre runners simply due to the control arm and spring configuration in the front. You'd end up with upward facing arms and a god awful ride.

if not,i could just drop the back because for some reason the front of it is lowered for some reason,and also thanks.

3 inches from the front,and 4 in the rear,but since front drop isnt possible,im thinking about only dropping the back,it’ll have a nicr stance that i think looks sick

 

Ah, ok, I read that as three quarters. Probably not gonna get much response here as most, if not all, lift not lower

hopefully some of the SoCal boys will chime in. Here in the north east we have to jack them up just to get over the frost heaves and potholes.

 

You would be much better off selling that truck and getting a 5 lug 1st gen Tacoma to drop it, the 6lug/Prerunners are built on the 4x4 frame....dropping it that low is going to require some fabrication work

Be much easier to lower a 5 lug, although I'm not sure the 5 lugs had a double cab option

Did it require much fabricating on the 6lug frame to install? I didn't know there was a kit out there to lower 6 lugs that much

That's the website but the kit for the older trucks is no longer listed. I had to contact Tom to make a kit for me.

 

how much do the kits go for,trying to do my research and to calculate costs for this project

 

I think it was just under 500 shipped, it works well. Here’s my truck, you can still go down another inch or 2 front and back than what I have it at.

 

It is pretty much the only kit that I know of that will work with 6 lug truck.
